In the coming week there is:
Chris Burden: Bridges
Gagosian Gallery
Opening 19 January – 20 February 2016
A selection of Chris Burden’s small-scale bridges made of vintage Meccano and erector sets and in tandem with his large-scale work Buddha’s Fingers. The bridges series began in 1997 when he saw a drawing of an unrealised iron bridge from the 19th century. The works blur the distinction between sculpture and structure.

Naama Roth: Architexture
Feinberg Projects
Opening 4 February – 26 March 2016
This is the artist’s first solo show at the Feinberg Projects Gallery. Roth takes industrial materials such as Formica, plastics, MDF and wallpaper as the primary focus materials for her work. They take centre stage, stripping the material of its practical function and instead turning it into an aesthetic being.

Kōji Enokura
Veneklased/Werner
Opening 23 January – 5 March 2016
A solo exhibition of works by Kōji Enokura – an important figure in post-war Japanese art and founding member of Mono-ha, the Tokyo-based collective who radically changed Japanese art during the late 1960s and 70s. This first ever display of Enokura’s work in Berlin offers a rare opportunity to reexamine the artists unique oeuvre. The exhibition features several paintings that defined the Mono-ha movement, characteristically possessing the expressive potential of substance, notions of bodily presence and absence. Displayed alongside his paintings are several photographs documenting Enokura’s first mature works. The photographs illustrate the artist’s passionate search for unconventional beauty in the mundane and overlooked.

Hiro
Hamiltons
Opening 22 January – 12 March 2016
The first exhibition in over 20 years at Hamiltons, this show presents the esteemed works of photographer Hiro. This retrospective is a focused look at the diverse and dynamic portfolio of an artist who is widely regarded as a photographer unlike any other. Renown for his originality, Hiro’s work is characterised by surprised, abnormalities, unusual lighting and strong elements of surrealism. His work illustrates the beauty he sees in the extraordinary and his ability to transform the most mundane objects.
